Tiospaye Founder/Award Winning Comedian/Advocate/Facilitator

My name is Colin Bird, and I am a Cree man from Mistawasis Nehiyawak First Nation in Saskatchewan. I am a father of six and have been happily married for twelve years. For over 20 years, I have worked within the Indigenous community, focusing on preventative measures to keep families together. In some cases, I help families reunite with children who have entered the foster care system by offering holistic healing services to our communities, with a strong emphasis on supporting families. I also work with Indigenous men, addressing the importance of our roles and the challenges we face in today's colonized world. Our goal is to empower men to embrace their traditional roles and navigate their place in modern society.

"Communication serves as a key component to working alongside our families and life givers. Many of our men are lost within the stigmas of the " the disciplining father". From this, I developed a workshop that will support and help men and fathers learn what healthy and nurturing communication is."
